"The Kennedy Half-Dollar" is an eclectic and unconventional true crime memoir.
The story is about a young woman, Seely, that finds herself caught in a nightmare with the Hawaiian Mafia. Her coworker is found dead in a cane field one morning and from that point on, Seely tries to escape their clutches. After many years she is forced to face her connection.
There are songs posted throughout the chapters. Play the music while you read. It maybe hard at first, but after the second or third song, it seems strange without. I could not write without music. What isn't expressed in my words is still in the song.

I don't have a video of this; if I did I would post it on You Tube or maybe America's Funniest Videos, but it is a true incident.
A few days ago, we were loading a cow into the trailer to take to the auction. There were three of us, my son, my brother-in-law, and me. The cow was very reluctant; we had her in the chute, but she wouldn't budge. Finally she managed to turn around (If you are not familiar with cattle loading chutes, they have a kind of funnel to guide the animal, then a narrow passage to the truck or trailer.) Anyway, this cow is standing at the head of the chute looking at us, and we are trying to figure out how to get her to move (yelling, slapping and poking had no effect), when she starts to back up. I guess she was trying to get away from us. She backed up the chute and into the trailer, while we all stood there with our mouths open.
