The religious debates of everyone vs Stahrwe is still ongoing eh?
I personally dislike Hitchens now. I find him to be way too heavy-handed. As far as God goes... In the past couple of years my views have changed on the subject, and I find myself leaning more towards some sort of God existing.

I have read War and Peace, I rather enjoyed it. I can not seem to make myself like many of the newer fantasy books, Pullman is a fantastic writer but... I do not know something is missing for me. Genocide and Bleach.... heretics, you need to be burned at the stake. I hated Wuthering Heights too. Catcher in the Rye was a major book when I was younger, it described many emotions that I felt at the time.
