I'm in, FYI I bought the kindle version and it says that the only difference with the updated 2018 edition is the preface, in case you wanted to get the older edition.

I'll read along with you all, with a few misgivings initially because of a not-so-good experience with Howard Zinn!
I hope Loewen is better on context than Zinn was.
I'm seeing a 2008 revision available as a PDF, but also the 2018 revision. I will have to wait to join the discussion until I can get a copy of the latest edition.

I just bought the book as an audio book on Audible.com so I can listen as I drive. I've been driving so much lately that it is nice to enjoy audio books during the boring commutes.

I feel like so far, his tone is much less negative than Zinn’s is. It’s funny you bring that up...I had the same misgivings on starting because APHOTUS left such a bad taste in my mouth when I read it.DWill wrote:I'll read along with you all, with a few misgivings initially because of a not-so-good experience with Howard Zinn!

This is how I’m going through the book also. Note that (well at least on my copy), the chapters in Audible do NOT match with the actual chapters of the book. But YMMV. Happy readingChris OConnor wrote:I just bought the book as an audio book on Audible.com so I can listen as I drive.
