I'm not sure what progress report this falls under, since I'm listening to the audio book. I wanted to comment that I love how Charlie finds the world profoundly mysterious as he learns more. He questions his own identity in a deeply philosophical way.
Heightened intelligence seems to make a person more easily identify the things others take for granted. If you take something for granted, you usually aren't aware of it.
