Re: RIP - Ruth Ginsberg
I hope that Trump nominates on Saturday and the Senate votes on Monday. They're under no requirement to stage confirmation hearings. Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed by the Senate in 2017 for a federal post, so if she's the nominee then just go ahead and vote. And just like that, we'd go from ultra-l...

Re: RIP - Ruth Ginsberg
22 presidents have nominated Supreme Court justices while in the fourth year of a term. Trump would be breaking precedent if he didn't nominate. Eisenhower even appointed a justice when congress was on recess. Most likely, Trump will nominate, and the senate will dawdle through some hearings, then t...

Re: 173 Declared Democratic Presidential Candidates
If what you are saying (it often isn't clear) is that many Democrats will wear "Not my president" gear, yeah, that will happen if Trump is re-elected. It doesn't really amount to much compared to the non-acceptance by the Fox News followers of Obama and his election. I still shudder at st...

I got through to the video, Chris, and I watched it, most of it. That guy is so malevolent. Look at his toothy grin when he's talking about death. Bill Gates does the same thing. The thought of death makes them smile. They can't help themselves. The guy in the video says that 6% does not mean 6%. Or...

Re: The World of Jeeves-P.G. Wodehouse
The Jeeves & Wooster stories are my favorite Wodehouse. I like the first person point of view and the breezy dialogue, and Bertie Wooster's ability to turn a phrase. I think the Soviets banned the books as too decadent. I guess they were, but they're so damn funny.

Re: Coronavirus
I don't see a link to a video. Could be my browser, but I don't see it. The extra deaths are from not attending to everyday medical issues. When the fear campaign was launched against the US, we were told that all available hospital beds would be needed for the virus that would kill 3-4% of us. So A...
