If Boston Dynamics is the company I think it is, try and find their video of "Big Dog."
Of course, if you are following the "Curiosity" robot on Mars, you can see some really cool robotics. Uh..... what if it can replicate, and the first manned expidition lands only to find that Mars now has an advanced robotic civilization?
Finally, I see the novel "Robopocalypse" is being made into a movie - by Spielberg, no less.
