Hello!
Hey everyone, I'm Sam. I live in Seattle, WA. I'm currently reading The Gunslinger by Stephen King. I'm hoping I can start getting back into reading and find some good authors that are like Stephen King. If you have any authors in mind that you like, leave their names below and I'll be sure to look into them

Re: Hello!
Hi Sam, and welcome to Book Talk. I have read The Dark Tower series, over a period of years; will leave a post for you in your thread there. I have read a lot of King's books, my personal favorite is "The Stand." As for other authors, in the horror genre you can do worse than Dean Koontz. As for fantasy, to me the absolute master is J. R. R. Tolkien. If you haven't read any of his books, start with "The Hobbit," then "Lord of the Rings." Currently, I am working my way through George R. R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series; "A Game of Thrones" etc. Well writeen.

Re: Hello!
Welcome to BookTalk.org, Sam.
I have to agree with Cattleman. Go with Tolkien if you want a great fantasy world in which to immerse yourself. Another fantasy genre author I thoroughly enjoy would have to be Joel Rosenberg and his "Guardians of the Flame" series. Good stuff for sure. I have only read part of the 1st Game of Thrones book but I am about to complete the 3rd season of the HBO series.
