What fiction book would you like to read and discuss next?
We're currently doing both Dracula, by Bram Stoker, and Another Country, by James Baldwin, in the months of April, May and June 2021. If those discussions are active enough we can keep them going longer than the current 90-day discussion period.
What fiction book should we read next? Please only make suggestions here if you actually plan to participate. Post the title and maybe a few words on why you're suggesting whatever you are suggesting. And please look at the fiction books other people have suggested and let everyone know if you like any of them or feel any of them would not make for a good discussion.

In an effort to get this rolling I am proposing we focus only on FREE books that are available in the public domain.

Some others I have on my cart:
Blood Meridian - Cormac McCarthy
The Republic of Nothing - Leslie Choyce
Arrowsmith - Sinclair Lewis
Neuromancer - William Gibson
Things Fall Apart - Chinua Achibe

Just for the heck of it, here are a couple of suggestions
The Plot Against America - Philip Roth
an alternative history, soon to become an HBO series
Book of the Duncow - by Walter Wangerin Jr.
fantasy novel and National Book Award-winning story of the epic struggle between good and evil - one of the few books I reread from time to time

Re: What fiction book would you like to read and discuss next?
I'm going to create a fiction poll soon. As you guys probably noticed the new non-fiction poll is up and awaiting your votes. We should strive to have a new non-fiction AND fiction book discussion started by Oct. 1, 2021.
Here's my fiction suggestion. My wife is an avid reader and I just assumed over the past few years that her brand of reading wasn't going to appeal to me but I was so wrong. On a road trip a few months ago we put on an audio book and I was blown away by the skilled writing of Kristin Hannah. Even my 10-year old son kept asking us to turn the book back on whenever we paused it. The book is...

No wonder this amazing read has over 76,000 reviews on Amazon. Please check it out.
