What did God do today?

Unread post

I have read many posts dealing about the rationale of religion... also many discussions about the nature of God (existance, soul, personhood, embodiment, etc)... I think it is very dificult to agree on personal opinions, especially if they are based on dogmatic beliefs... However, I am curious...Is God for real, or is it only an external force with no interaction with the natural world? What do you think has God done today? Can you describe any event or thing that God did this morning? Can you name specific actions? Diversity is Good!

God is an embodiment of all things people cannot understand. It is an easy means of classifying that which cannot be classified. There is no real existence of any god. IMO.Mr. P. The one thing of which I am positive is that there is much of which to be negative - Mr. P.The pain in hell has two sides. Humanity is how God gets a minor galaxy to produce a scorching star that generates a tiny water globe upon which a scrumptous assortment of many celled organisms evolve into swimming, crawling, flying, leaping, climbing, walking, thinking bipeds who rely upon mother's milk and a cultural context in which tools are developed, rules are enforced, meaning is made, births and deaths are celebrated and mourned, weapons of mass destruction are spread and utilized to injure and destroy, and occasionally a few will sit with coffee and keyboard to assemble pixels across a screen to explain why or why not God exists.

Seems like a fair question to me. What if all of that happened, and happens, without any divine intervention?Should we really be discussing what a god did today, or any day, without first figuring out if a god even exists? I think not. Chris

Of course the statement made is one of faith...a way to justify faith.Of course no deity or any other supernatural occurence need be to describe the universe in that way.Mr. P. Quote:Should we really be discussing what a god did today, or any day, without first figuring out if a god even exists?Yes Chris, I think it is a valid alternative to approach the subject. If we can find something that God did... any specific and observable event... and that cannot be explained by anything else as by the action of God... then well... we must remain logical and consequent... if God is doing something, then he must exists, doesn't he? How could he be doing things without existing? Even if we cannot smell, hear or see him... if we notice what he is doing, we got the proof we need...So yes, Dissident... maybe you are on the right track... but can you be more specific? I am not asking about general things... I would like to hear some precise examples. I am also not asking what he did millions of years ago... What did he do today?PD. Ken, thank you for sending me to hell... What did I do to you to deserve that? Diversity is Good!

God is a construct of the minds of men. God has done many things today, for many people. There is majesty and mystery in some things that happen to people, and to the world. Patterns manifest continuously, and some are miraculous. But all these things are in the minds of men.An act of God: Dissident Heart going out into the community to help people, in whatever way that may be. God exists in the mind of Dissident, and is fundamental to his actions. This is a great thing, but it is not God who is responsible, it is Dissident. Yet, it wouldn't be possible if God did not exist in the mind of Dissident.
