I'm currently juggling three different books:
The Private Diary of Mr. Darcy by Maya Slater
Storm Front by Jim Butcher
Orange is the New Black by Piper Kerman

"I'm Down" by Mishna Wolff. I picked it up by chance the other day and I'm hooked. For anyone who grew up a nerd in any neighborhood...you'll identify. Mishna finds herself growing up Wonder Bread white in an urban neighborhood. You'll laugh even through the cringe-worthy moments as she learns to fit in.

Read that a couple of months ago. Completely engrossing. Read a few more Pendergast books since then, but none are as good as this one, in my opinion.gbowelch wrote:Reliquary by Preston/Child - book 2 in the Pendergast series - absolute page turners for me - NYC based crime fiction
Currently reading Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost. I'm getting into urban fantasy lately, and quite enjoying it. However, I'm finding it difficult to find books that live up to the likes of Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan series, and the hilarious Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones.

"Long Way Gone"- Ishmael Beah
Memoirs of a child soldier in Sierra Leone. Engrossing and very graphic, but very well written and hard to put down.

The ECCO anthology of Contemporary American Short Fiction, selected by Joyce Carol Oates. I'm in the middle of it, currently. This morning I read a story by Mary Gaitskill "The girl on the plane". JCO said the stories were "the very best, the most representative" works, which are often overlooked.
