Since I did not read this book in time to join in the discussion, I will post a brief comment here concerning my reactions to it.

I was intrigued by the title, but at the time, too busy with other projects to read and discuss it. When I did get around to reading it, I found the first chapter quite interesting, and read on. Some of the middle got a little bogged down, sounded more like a case study of PTSD than anything. I muust say I struggled to finish Mr. Junger's work.

My final reaction is "ambivalent."
