I am surprised that the LDS church has not come out with some kind of boycott, or maybe even tried to shut down the musical via litigation.

God forbid! :D

underneath the humour and great broadway music i sense a deep love and appreciation of people and mormons in particular.

Trey and Matt have done quite a bit on mormons as Fitzy mentions early in the book.
