I was trying to figger out how to DL the .pdf to my Fire tablet and gave up.
Libby is an app that works with your library card to borrow books and audio for a certain time frame. The Day of the Triffids book was not available for 2 weeks, so I got the audio. Instantly. For free.

This book is a great read. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. As such, I was looking around to see if any movies were made of it. There are a couple of movie versions, but apparently they stray far from Wyndham's text, and aren't considered very good. But here's a 1981 BBC TV series in case anyone's interested. I haven't seen it yet, as I'm still reading the book. You can download it here:

I’ve just been reading the story off of Chris’s link. No need to download, just touch and read. It’s up to the individual to mark where they left off.

@ Geo :goodpost:
My streaming services wouldn’t let me check out the series.
Your link is perfect.

Thanks

Page twelve gives us the opportunity to see the world through the eyes of this plausible fantasy and that of other pervasive horrors of the time.
We’re told that this is not the product of some human catastrophe such that wrought the likes of Godzilla or some other monstrous creature…such like the “Tarantula” or the attack of the fifty foot man. (I don’t think the MCU gave us the Hulk yet).
This was something different, something that on the surface was a benefit…
Unknown benefits can be so tricky :o

I just noticed someone else wrote a sequel to this book. Set more than 25 years later...could be interesting...
The Night of the Triffids by Simon Clark.
