I would like your opinions

I am new to all of this, so please bare with me. I was just contracted to publish my book of poetry, I am a first time author. My poetry focuses on my battles and overcoming of child abuse and anorexia. I would love some feed back. Below is a poem that will be in my book.

From black and white
Into the light
Is the story I yearn to tell
I am not content
But once I lived in hell

Abused and confused
I nearly wasted away
Now in a place of love
A place that I will stay

A hospital bed where I laid my head
Many years ago
Was a home then
A place Ill never go

Once confined to a chair
I would sit and stare
Looking out the window
Wishing I were out there

Now that I am living free
Which I thought I would never be
This is the story I will tell
Happiness is more appreciated once youve been to hell
