What makes good poetry?

Are choices of words enough to convey the meaning behind a poem? Should feelings be involved
and must it necessarily be the true feeling of the author? Is it right to think, that for a good poem
you should be able to sing it in your heart? :)

What's your thought?

cheers!

For me, poetry is about passion. When you are passionate about what you are writing that is conveyed in your choices of words. Poetry is personal and therefore I believe everyone would have their own view. I could not write of something that were not my true feelings or beliefs. Poetry is a song without a melody, so yes you should be able to sing it in your heart
