Almost HALF of GDP 1Q decline attributed to healthcare?

Unread post

During a pandemic GDP is being negatively impacted by healthcare? How ironic is that?

Elective procedures placed on hold because of COVID 19?
Not enough patients to generate income growth?

The link didn't work for me, but I wanted to check what seems a remarkable and unlikely statistic. Can you check on this further, ant? I wonder what "attributed" means in this context. I saw from a source that healthcare spending declined by 2.3%, but that of course wouldn't account for half of the 4.8% decline of GDP.

Well, maybe somebody else can try. I can't get into the document you're referring to. I cannot understand how healthcare declining 2.3% or a similar amount can cause half the drop in GDP in the first quarter.
