Topic: A young man (26) loses his family and friends in short order and plunges into a deep depression with constant suicide ideation. He becomes obsessed with studying the question of death, and why death must occur. At the organismic level, life and death are binary and discrete: you are either alive or dead. Even though parts of your body can fail, there is always a definitive moment where the global organism is functionally unrecoverable. When this unrecoverability occurs, does reality "turn off", as with anesthesia or in fainting? Or...is the instantaneous, binary nature of death suggestive of a mathematical transition from physical reality into a mental reality?
The man ingests (large amounts) Peyote Cactus juice and begins his wakeful journey through the astral planes.

"Are we not also mental entities?" The young man realizes.

Conclusion: Upon physical death, the body is mathematically relaxed of its perceptual constraints and...enters pure cognitive reality (that of which we get a glimpse in dreams and inner visions).
