The sun is dying. The people of the Earth must find new homes. There is a mass migration to several earth type planets. A cryogenic ship carrying what's left of the North American Indian Nation experiences a computer problem and travels for over a thousand years before waking the crew. The ship is in uncharted space and the crew and passengers are forced to colonize a nearby high gravity planet. After several generations the descendants of these original lost colonists begin to thrive as their bodies adapt to a high gravity environment. Generations later an alien race that evolved from Carrion beetles makes first contact in deep space and a fight ensues. Due to a miscalculation by the aliens, the crew and passengers of the Peoples Nation's ship manage to defeat the aggressors and capture their ship. 25 years later the aliens return with a large invasion fleet. The humans are not prepared for a war with a technologically advanced enemy stretching across lightyears. The humans put all their hope into an old school soldier who started his career in the snipper corps.
