With no records of who he is or where he comes from, Alex is forced to become a soldier. He joins an army bred with the single purpose of saving thousands in the war against an onslaught of alien beasts. The strain of fighting a seemingly loosing battle is heightened by the arrival of The Chosen, an anarchist group determined to make the world a heaven for those with elemental powers.
Alex slowly develops a sense of being on the battlefield. He soon comes to question his role in the war, for the murder of millions by The Chosen may very well be a necessary act to save the planet. Will Alex aid in the massacre, or will he risk the survival of the world? The path he carves with his sword will shake his notion of what it means to be human and a soldier.
