I, personally, have always loved this one from Japan, (out of the many, many pranks from Japan that have made me laugh). Not the best video quality, but it's a cherry from the days of yore:



And this is a classic that has always made me laugh, though I wonder if they had the foresight to have a medic standing by in case anyone had a heart attack!



The show Trigger Happy did the same prank, but with the 100 people dressed as plushies! Here it is, plus a few other gems from the show:
