Has anyone else noticed an unsettling similarity between these two movies?

I haven't seen Splice. Was it any good? Also, oddly enough, I got a Pocahontas vibe from Avatar...

Splice wasn't like anything I have ever seen before. I don't know if I can say if it is good, but I do recommend it & can promise you will not be bored.

Avatar because Splice was just disgusting. First half was good, but the rest was awkward. I didn't like either of them that much though.

Also, Dren can fly and breathe underwater and has no hair, qualities the Na'vi don't share. Just saying. xD

The obvious awkwardness of Splice is also apparent in Avatar. Avatar sugar coats it & tells you to feel "happy" in the end. Splice throws it in your face & lets you decide. However, they both bring up the same issue.

I don't recall any (spoiler in small text) rape in Avatar. Plus, the main character wasn't the surrogate father of the na'vi woman.

I mean, the whole movie seemed like it would have made a good short story, but it just didn't translate to film.

It's all about alien porno. Count me in.
