Absolutely, as well as green tea (matcha) poundcake. We are in Japan once or twice a year and enjoy the ice cream, including black sesame. However, I once got ice cream (green) thinking it was green tea and it turned out to be wasabi. Horrid!

Green tea ice cream is delicious. My wife and I get it when we go to our favorite sushi restaurant in St. Petersburg, FL. We even get it to go so we have a backup supply at home. You really need to try it if you haven't already.

Oblivion, I can't picture what wasabi icecream tastes like. Was it hot and cold at the same time?

Chris, it wasn't so much hot (which it was a little) but you had the distinct wasabi flavour.
BTW, if you can get a can of matcha powder, (green tea powder), you can soften one pint of vanilla ice cream and mix it with 2 tablespoons of the powder to make your own.

I'd try green tea ice-cream if I saw it. Love sushi and sashimi - my OH spent some time in Japan and brought back the ideas.

Wasabi is so great isn't it? Like somebody is hammering 6" nails into your head, tears to the eyes- but so adictive.

I've just created my own yeast! Mixing rye flour to a paste and leaving for a few days, it begins to bubble and smell yeasty. Now I'm going to make sour-dough loaf from my own grown yeast. Well......I'm going to attempt to make a sour dough loaf......
