Do you have any series you'd recommend?

Here are the series that I love...

Breaking Bad
Better Call Saul
Sons of Anarchy
and now The Mayans
Narcos
Ozark
The Walking Dead
Master of None
Bates Motel

My wife and I watch a bunch of series that I'm not listing simply because they are just decent and not really captivating.

You're reminding me I should resume watching House of Cards!

How about Hand of God? My wife and I just started that yesterday and wow it's good!

Cancelled Netflix. They ticked me off when they killed reviews. The reviews were funny.

Endeavor
DCI Banks
Rake
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
800 Words
Exhibition on Screen: History's Greatest Artists
Nova
Frontline
American Experience

Some are PBS, some are Acorn TV, you can get Acorn TV through Amazon Prime now. I pay $4.99 a month but I've been getting it since before Prime picked it up. I recommend it.

I really enjoyed Bates Motel until the last couple of episodes. I thought the show was going to end right where the Hitchcock movie starts. Kind of disappointed it didn't.

I tried The Walking Dead a few times but never could get into it.

I've heard a lot about Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul but never have had the desire to give them a shot.

Sons of Anarchy is one of my all time favorites. I've heard a few people say they've been disappointed with The Mayans. Haven't seen it yet.

Man in the High Castle - good

Black Mirror - some episodes have been good.

Battlestar Gallactica - very good.

Electric Dreams - meh

Poldark — Masterpiece Theatre

Good series. I watch it because of Eleanor Tomlinson. If I were 30 years younger... she still wouldn't look at me twice :(

Yes, the ending was a bit disappointing but overall the series was one of my favorites. Vera Farmiga is gorgeous IMO.

I keep watching hoping something positive is going to happen but it just never does. The show brings me down yet I keep watching. We're at a point where there is a helicopter overhead so I am hoping this leads to something major. If not I'm going to stop watching.

I'm so glad I gave Breaking Bad another shot. If you can get to about Episode 6 of Season 1 you will get hooked. Better call Saul is great too.

Absolutely one of my all-time favorites. Right up there with The Sopranos, Deadwood and Rome. I have 7 episodes of The Mayans recorded and I am not finding myself motivated to watch them. I'll soon give that series a fair shake but right now they can sit there in my DVR collecting dust.

I started this one but never got more than a few episodes in. I like to watch series with my wife and she just didn't like this one. So I have to sit alone and watch it (and cry because I am all alone) or just skip it.
ant wrote:Black Mirror - some episodes have been good.
Yes, but overall it is a depressing series to me.
ant wrote:Battlestar Gallactica - very good.
Ah I forgot about this one! Yes, great series. I never finished it but now that you reminded me of it I should dive back in.
ant wrote:Electric Dreams - meh
Never heard of it. But with your "meh" I'll give it a pass.

What about Dune? The TV series was awesome. I'm pretty sure it was called Children of Dune. It's been so many years since I watched it and I know there was a few different shows/series/movies. But I believe the good one was Children of Dune.

Being a 60s guy, I like Madmen a lot. The character Don Draper was fascinating, though I 'm not sure exactly why.

Yes, Breaking Bad & Saul are top notch. I'm annoyed that with my current TV tech I can't access the new season of Saul.

The Queen--always an interesting drama about recent history.

The Handmaid's Tale I find to be powerful, painful to watch at times.

How about Halt and Catch Fire? That one I don't hear talked about much. It was a good take on the early tech industry.

A newer one is Maniac, with a slimmed down Jonah Hill and Emma Stone. It's uneven and we stopped watching it.

The Romanovs, by Madmen's Matthew Weiner, is watchable, though also not of consistent quality.
