Remember that terrible thing that came out with Mark Wahlberg? This is an upgrade, by the looks of it.

This i could actually watch.

Uh, oh, James Franco, that's usually a red flag for me, but then I saw the hot chick from Slumdog Millionaire and gave it the benefit of the doubt. Looks promising. But this is a prequel, correct?

i don't mind Franko.

yeah, its a prequel. Its supposed to be how the apes became intelligent and took over the planet, but i didn't see anything in there indicating that there was a ship in orbit investigating some strange annomoly in space.

That's the thing, isnt it? Theres a ship in space, they get stuck in some annomoly, turns out they traveled forward in time to where the apes have had control for centuries.

Well, then in this prequel there should be a space ship up there with charlton heston on it.

haha.

What i like is the thoughtful look on the chimp's face at the end of the trailer.

Portrayed intelligence without doing something campy.

looked good.

Yeah, the best thing I like about this is that is takes a different route for explaining the ape take over, as opposed to the original, which tried to argue that those humanoid apes had evolved from humans, and did so in only a few millenia, which of course flies right in the face of what we know about evolution. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this will be good. And BTW, don't blame Marky Mark for the last abomination, for me, almost any remake/adaptation involving Tim Burton smells like shit.

I highly advise you all, if you have not done so yet, to read the novel "Planet of the Apes" by Pierre Boule. This is the book that inspired the movies.
I just finished reading it and I quite liked it.

My youngest son bought me this movie for Christmas and it is awesome and a must see. They use the blue screen again with that actor who played that Precious dude from Lord of the rings and the Ape in King Kong. Everyone who played an ape was in those suits and had to learn how to run around like an ape. If you love special effects like I do, you will love this movie, guaranteed. Two thumbs up for this movie, and yes, a lot better than the Mark Walburgh movie.
