Let your fellow Booktalkers know that you plan to read and discuss Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow with them. This non-fiction book discussion will extend through October, November, and December 2023. Just make a quick post here so that everyone knows they won't be discussing this book with only themselves.

I don't think I will be participating. I read and liked "Sapiens," but that was a different time in my life and I am just reluctant to take on a book this big, about themes that matter to me but by an author who, I feel, overreaches for effect. I will miss a lot of marvelous nuggets as a result, I expect.

I have used Harari's big theme from Sapiens, that humans are the animals who communicate, a lot. I drag it out when I am trying to convince students to work on learning stuff they will probably never use - they need to be able to communicate, you see. I wish all of you a fun read. And who knows, maybe I will find myself with the time.
