Nobody's signed up to participate in this? I will, but I'll be a bit tardy. I'll order a cheap copy of the book sometime today.

Clarke's Rendevous With Rama may be my favorite sci-fi novel of all time. It's the one I recommend to people at least, when they ask which sci-fi book they should read.

The last thing I read by Clarke was "The Sentinel," the short story that sparked Stanley Kubrick into making the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey. Kubrick and Clarke collaborated on the movie. That story's at the link below:

It will be interesting to see what Clarke predicted about the future. I wonder what he has to say about computers? The personal computer grew out of advances made during the manned space missions.
