What FICTION book would you like to read and discuss as a group in July and August 2012?

Please suggest books in this thread only if you're an active BookTalk.org member with at least 10 posts on our forums.

Personally, the best fiction book i can think of is Max Brook's "World War Z".

It is a book that takes place during a zombie apocalypse, but really the zombies are the least of what this book deals with. They are the mcguffin which sets up a catalyst for world-wide change, and that is really what this book is about.

Different cultures, different politics, different economies and how people in each of these groups respond to a world-changing catastrophic event.

It's only like 300 pages long, and i honestly recommend this book to everyone.

Currently for sale at amazon for $9.71. It's a steal.

You know, what the hell, we don't need to nominate any other books at this point. A zombie book always trumps anything else.

I'm in. All you hoity-toity literature people need to get on board with this one too. It's summer. It's time to read a fun book.

Good.

I'm glad you guys are going to read it. Then i will have somebody to feel sad with when Brad Pitt's movie of the same name comes out.

I read the synopsis, compare it to the book... and it makes me weepy.
