PLUTARCH'S LIVES.

Hello, All. I'm new here but as there's no "Introduce Yourself" forum, I thought I'd start by posting about what I'm reading.

Being an older man with time on my hands, I've lately discovered an interest in all the classics that I eschewed in earlier life. And being also one to jump in feet first, I've got hold of an eBook of "PLUTARCH'S LIVES". So far it looks like it will be very rewarding.

Anyone else here interested in those ancients?

Cheers,
John. :)

:welcome:
I read part of Plutarch's Lives a long time ago. It was a few chapters dealing with the warrior culture of Sparta. Those were some extremely tough people, be sure to read that section. I'd like to get back to it and read more of that book.

I'll check out that chapter, Lan. It'd be very interesting, I'd say.

First I'm looking for the Julius Caesar chapter. I watched the 1953 movie the other day, and at the beginning there is a quote by Plutarch about Julius Caesar, and his falling popularity with the masses. Can't wait to find that.
