I loved it too. Although I found there to be much less to discuss than I expected.

No truer words can be spoken :) Thanks.

The mild exceptions of whether there are enough worth while reasons, a large enough rate of success or even a capacity to achieve the type of mission depicted in both the book and film, were covered early in the discussion. There really was not a hole lot to discuss beyond as the audience wasn't presented with much in the way of controversial activities or statements by Andy Weir. It was for the most part a simple survival story.

It is interesting though! We read a story or watch a film (the book was better) and there is the satisfaction of being entertained, and yet no angst over having been so.

i found the book really triggered off a movie in my head, that's usually what happens when i read.

i'll have to watch the movie now when i get a chance just to see how it compares to the images the book brought to my minds eye.

I get the same mental imagery when reading something that I'm really digging.

I'm just getting into "Good Omens" by Gaiman & Pratchett, So...the curtains open and the imaginative mind scape camera starts to flicker... the picture show now begins.

Yeah I can still vividly recall heaps of scenes conjured up while listening to good omens, it was so entertaining, one of my favourite audiobooks ever, for straight out fun, not to mention all the other great things going on concept wise, no wonder people loved that book.
