At least one edition of Lord Jim is also available for free at Amazon's Kindle store. I was wondering if it matters which edition we use, as I plan to download that one to my personal Kindle reader.

I think I saw the motion picture adaptation of "Lord Jim" (the one with Peter O'Toole), though in all candor I cannot remember much about it.
