I find Haidt's work very interesting (I love the work on moral dumbfounding), but I often disagree with his explanations and interpretations of his research. I'm looking forward to reading the book, but may be a slightly late starter depending on when my copy arrives.

Another resource that people might find interesting is a website Haidt and a couple of others have been running for a few years and it looks like the Righteous Mind might be closely related to it. It has a good section on "understanding the other side" of politics for conservatives and liberals.

I would really like to read along, but it will depend on if I can get a copy of the book. Here is something that might be interesting, a website run by Haidt that you can take his Morality Quiz. It might be fun to do before reading the book.

Interesting, there's one that has you put a price on doing lots of unpleasant things.

I'm too lazy to register and then answer it all.

Don't say it - I know this discussion is basically over, but I am a slow thinking kind gal (I don't mean slow in that way ;) ), no fast thinking going on here I'm afraid (I do plan to get to that book too at some point). I thought that Mr. Haidt's profile page on UVA's site was interesting and had lots of links - thought I'd share in case there are other slow pokes like myself.
