Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

Unread post

I am currently reading Outlander after discovering the series on Amazon Prime and getting hooked. I can definitely see how this book wouldn't really appeal to all but I love it. I love the romance and the bizarre mix of magic, history and folklore. I've often thought of trying to write myself and this is exactly the kind of style I would pick, after all if you are going to write a work of fiction you might as well go a bit mad with your subject matter. I cannot wait to read the next one in the series.

Has anyone else read it, I would love to hear their thoughts?

I realize you posted this a long time ago, but I am currently reading them now. I started at the end of August this year after season two of the show ended. I am 85% done with Voyager now. I am at the part where Claire and Jamie visit Geilis looking for Ian. Hands down the books so far have been quite an adventure. Since there are 8 large books plus side material, and the author is currently working on a 9th book I figure I will be occupied quite awhile. I imagine you have completed them a long time ago now. I hear season three of the show has been put off until September 2017. I will probably get Drums of Autumn and The Fiery Cross completed by then.
