Just finished Finding Purpose in a Godless World - by Ralph Lewis. Gotta go back and make some comments...

Currently reading The View from Flyover Country: Dispatches from the Forgotten America by Sarah Kendzior. It's about conditions in American that lead to President Trump.

I also enjoyed In Cold Blood. As I recall right 'round the time I read it, they made TWO movies about those events. Strange.

Here's a book I have that appears similar to the one by the Dalai Lama above. Awake at Work: 35 Practical Buddhist Principles for Discovering Clarity and Balance in the Midst of Work's Chaos by Michael Carroll. First time I tried it I was in a job that was WAY too stressful, had to leave for self preservation. May be able to give that book another try now.

A link to a pdf of the book is on this page:

I've read excerpts from it over the years, but never the entire work. Mark Phillips wrote the first part and Cathy O'Brien the second. O'Brien was a sex slave and Phillips rescued her. I had trouble getting through Phillips' bad grammar, typos and wonky digital formatting, but I'm five chapters into O'Brien's story and it's much smoother reading.

Don't bother with this book unless you can deal with the topic. O'Brien pulls no punches.

The Thanatos Syndrome, by Walker Percy, a re-read. Heavy sodium in the water supply of a Louisiana parish leads to strange behaviors and detective work by psychiatrist Tom More, who unravels the mystery. Nobody creates memorable characters like these Southern literary geniuses.

Just finished "Educated" by Tara Westover and found it excellent. Some of it may sound like fiction, but I used to work in that area, and will vouch for it being truthful.
