Should we read "The Selfish Gene" concurrently?

I'm realizing that it really might be smart for many of us to read Dawkins "The Selfish Gene" before we start "The Extended Phenotype." What do you guys think?

I think that if I'm to have any hope at all in following the second book, I'll need the first one under my belt. I just don't have enough genetics in my background.

This sounds funny....like you're complaining about your genes.

Only a few of us voted in the book poll so I don't think we'd upset too many people if we changed from "The Extended Phenotype" to "The Selfish Gene," or even if we did them one after another.

I do the best with the genes that I got. *G*

I would like to either do the books together or do "The Selfish Gene" slightly prior to "The Extended Phenotype".

Yeah, actually, I'd vote to discuss both books, one after another. I have both already and I'm planning on reading The Selfish Gene first.

OK, then consider it done. I will add a new forum later tonight for "The Selfish Gene."

First of all I want to say HI to everyone :) . For me Richard Dawkins is one of the biggest forerunner. I wish I would live in a different place than Poland radom (pop. 250000) where every one put stock in superstitions. In my opinion Richard Dawkins is well known becouse he can talk to everyone by using 'common language' that helps to understand for people like me. "The Selfish Gene" is really good book. MY favourite is 'Enemies of Reason'
