Looking for an appropriate short story to translate
Hi, could you help me with finding a short story, which would be a good choice for my B.A. thesis? As a topic for my thesis, I want to translate an english writtten short prose to my mother tongue - Czech and then analyse it. It must be a 15-30 standart pages long text. Also it must be written in complex and idiomatic English, ideally with direct speech and dialect. Of course it must be a piece of writing, which hasn't been translated into Czech yet. I'll be gladful for any tips!

You can translate one of my stories if you want.

That's a link to a collection of several pieces that don't fit into any of the print projects I'm working on. One called "What Ha'e the Dobkins Willy?" might fit your length requirement. And it's certainly idiomatic. Or you could use any of the other stories there. None are very profound, but some are fun. I could assist with the more obscure wordings.
I don't believe any of my stories have been translated. An editor once offered to translate one into English, but I turned her down.
Good luck with your search. There are some great stories out there.
PS - I have other material in print, pdf and epub formats. https://mikesheedy.wordpress.com/ shows what's currently available. Let me know if you have any interest.
