The collection of short stories "Facing the Music" by author Larry Brown changed my life and my writing style. His work has taught me to not be afraid to write what I want and what I feel.

My introduction to Larry Brown was with his second collection BIG BAD LOVE. From there I read his novels JOE, FATHER AND SON and THE RABBIT FACTORY. He is a favorite of mine, and his death left a heavy loss in the world of literature.
