New today!

Unread post

I actually registered in March but as you know life interrupts. I am now looking forward to being an active member of the community. I love a lot of diverse topics, from sports to progressive politics to pet care, so I'm sure I will find a lot of things to talk to people about! I work as a clinical director for a small home care agency here in Maine, have four cats of my own and am a foster parent whenever the shelter is looking for one. Glad to be here and looking forward to meeting and talking with you all.

LisaWelcome to BookTalk! I assume you foster cats, not kids. I was a foster kid for years, so even fostering cats gets my attention. So many living creatures that need help, whether they are human or other species. So thanks for giving to the world. If those cats could talk they would thank you too. My girlfriend and I went to the Humane Society today and visitied with all the cats. The Humane Society actually has a store in the local mall here in Florida, much to my surprise, so we had the opportunity to drop by, pet some cats, and donate a few dollars. Actually, my girlfriend donated the cash. I love that about her - she has a big heart. For whatever reason they only have cats in the mall store - probably because dogs make too much noise and they are not permitted by mall management.I read your post about planning on participating in "The March." The book is a fast and pleasant read so I'm sure you'll enjoy it too. Page 59 was rather silly, but we can discuss that over in the forum for The March.Chris Edited by: Chris OConnor  at: 11/27/05 8:37 pm
