Need help finding book

Ive been awake the past 2 hours trying to find a book I read in High school. Its about a boy who discovers his dad is a hero of some sort, and travels to live with him. He gets trained by his father and near the end his father tells him he has planted bombs in the city. He has to find and defuse them or prevent the destruction of the city. From what I recall neither had super powers just powered suits kind of like Iron Man's.
