A website for discussing any specific book or author

Hello!

As quarantine has given us more time to read and think, a couple of us developer/designer folks found we also had time to build a beta of a website that we have wanted to see for a while: bibliverse.com.

The idea is that you can find any specific book or author no matter how obscure and engage in a community-driven experience dedicated to that book or author.

Does anyone feel like this is a good idea? Or does it miss the mark? If it's the latter, is there a go-to website or app people use for discussing books/authors like this? We find that posts on this forum are great about creating community around books and authors in general, and the book-specific discussion threads are also good at highlighting different popular books. But it doesn't feel like there is a persistent community around any given book or author (besides the aforementioned more popular ones). A site like goodreads provides the book/author-level focus but has more of an emphasis on finding books and authors rather than discussing them.

To be clear, we are promoting our project here but ultimately it is just a hobby project for a few of us -- we aren't backed by any kind of money or anything :) Thus, we also want this post to serve as a discussion starter for the more general point: where can persistent book/author-specific communities live?

That does look interesting. Seems like you'll have to generate a bunch of comments or leading questions to "seed" the thing for it to attract attention, not sure how to do that. For example, no posts on 11/22/63 by Stephen King, one of the best books I've read. No posts on 1984 by Orwell. Etc...
