Books and Cats....in MN

Unread post

Hi everyone, I'm really happy to be here!

My name is Carol, and I'm a 49 year old female in central Minnesota. I live with my husband (who is truly a "crazy cat lady" at heart, LOL) and a bunch of cats who believe that I cannot read without assistance :?

To be honest, we also have two dogs a bunch of chickens and some geese (we live in a rural area). But those animals aren't as conducive to reading or "helping" :-)

I've been a member of a couple of other online forums for years, I don't know why it never occurred to me to find one for book lovers!

My tastes tend to run towards fiction, but are very eclectic within that genre--Right now I am reading Anne Perry's The Face of a Stranger, a Hardy Boys book, and Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run". I love Grace Livingston Hill and J.K. Rowling. How's that for narrowing things down a little? LOL, I think in general I prefer cozy mysteries and similar stuff, where there's not a lot of tragedy or heartbreak (there's enough of that in real life), but I read anything that looks interesting.

I recently finished "The Story of Beautiful Girl" and can't remember how I heard about it, but that book made me laugh and cry and I thought about it for days after I finished it.

I don't have a lot of real-life friends who read, so it's hard to find someone to share my favorites with and harder still to find someone to share theirs with me! I am looking forward to getting to know you all!
