Hello fellow readers and authors

I'm an older male residing in the US. I've been a Florida resident since the 70s. My day job is in engineering, but my passion is books (mostly sci fi and fantasy). I'm now learning the ropes of self publishing and marketing, as I hope to someday soon release a sci-fi novel I started writing back in 1999!
Meanwhile, I am writing and publishing other less ambitious books and learning from these experiences. I'm also going to follow rules and not talk about my book here. I would love to hear from others who took the authoring plunge recently and would like to share their insights and best practices with me.
