I didn't want to taint the traditional Jazz thread with modern stuff.
But hey, there's some pretty dam good acid Jazz out there too. Back in the 90's I was sifting through some CD's in a surf shop looking for something different in the Jazz arena. What I found was the Groove Collective out of NY. I've been jamming them out every since. Here's a sample:

I'm into Santana and that introduced me to Latin sounds. One of the things I like about the Groove Collective is the heavy Afro-Cubano influence:

i remember ages ago i was doing some research into the therapeutic use of halucinogens so i got me some acid and thought i might just have a play on the guitar while i wait for the substance to take hold....so i started noodling and 30 minutes later my fingers were finding notes i never knew were there
i thought, ooooooooh that's why all my heroes dabbled

I started a Pandora station called Acid Jazz and seeded it with Jamiroquai and Groove Collective. Will add whatever else shows up here.
Not sure how to share a station...
