Any Fellow Fans of Mysteries and Thrillers Out There?

Hello Everyone,
I'm excited to join BookTalk, which I discovered only recently during an internet search for others who share my obsession with reading.
I'm a male reader and live in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia.
I'm a big fan of mysteries (especially the "gold-standard" authors: Sir Arthor Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie's several detectives), thrillers (James Patterson, James Rollins, Michael Crichton), classics (especially Charles Dickens--my all-time favorite author--and Jane Austen), and select non-fiction, primarily of a science or educational bent (Steven Pinker, Mary Roach).
I started writing a series of mystery/thriller books last year. It's a blast and a great change of pace from other life activites as it lets me explore my interest in these genres in a whole new way.
I'm particularly interested in interacting with other folks who share my literary interests. I'll be looking into forums on my favoriate genres in the near future.
