Books From Your Youth

I'm guilty of regularly (once every couple of years) reading books I enjoyed as a youth. I'm curious if anyone else does this to revisit those books that made them happy as a kid.

Some of my favorites:

The Black Stallion
The Four-Story Mistake
The Adventures of the Mad Scientists' Club
The New Adventures of the Mad Scientists' Club
The Boxcar Children

While I haven't re-read many of them, your post did jog my memory. Here are some of my favorite childhood/youth novels:

"Treasure Island" by Robert Louis Stevenson
"Call of the Wild" by Jack London
"The Hardy Boys" mystery series
"Between Planets" by Robert Heinlein

There are many more, but age has dimmed my memory, as well as my eyes.

Charlotte's Web to this day brings to me epiphanies. To this freaking day! Oh what else... Dr Seuss and Lewis Carroll books still interest me.

All Quiet on the Western Front made a big impact on me when I was in middle school. Since that time, I've read it several times. I really helps me remember how good I've got it.

All the Astrid Lindgren's Emil series
All the Emilio Salgari's pirates stories
Jack London's The Call of the Wild
Isaac Asimov's Foundation
Hemingway's The First Forty Nine Stories (Now I prefer other Hemingway's books, but at 12 years old I fell in love with Nick Adams)

I'm reading 'A Wrinkle in Time' with my 10 year old. But I just rediscovered 'The Ghost Next Door' yesterday and might have to revisit it sometime.

I have re-read in my old age and NOT liked these books that I loved as a teenager:

Leon Uris' fiction
Worldly Philosophers
Stranger in a Strange Land
Foundation
Ringworld

But, in the spirit of this thread, I still love the Horatio Hornblower books I first read in elementry school.
