As a side note, we spend enough time pitting science against religion.

Forget that...,

What's a larger issue is the carte blanche pass science has with animal experimentation broadly speaking that is not advertised/vocalized anywhere near to these silly superficial arguments celebrity atheists stir up and make millions of dollars as a result.

I'd imagine the first shallow response to this would be similar to someone asking me am I grateful for my iPhone, or my car, or plains and trains, or cures for thousands of diseases. Yes, of course I am.
But how many animals are tortured and killed in the name of science for highly questionable studies?
Where is the public disclosure about this?

Oh Mighty Oracle, we give to you these sacrifices in hopes you return something favorable!!

If you're going to throw this in there, what "silly superficial arguments" are you referring to? The strawman that God definitely doesn't exist, or the strawman that we can prove religion is harmful?

You seem to think you're arguing against people who will defend anyone doing anything in the name of science.

If mouse experiments are not useful, they should probably not be used.

You mean silly superficial atheists like Richard Dawkins (who has written extensively about the subject)?
