Psst.. psycho,
TOE is and was never meant to be a refutation of the existence of a supreme intelligence.
Are you in any way familiar with the history of science?

It's morally disgusting you should even come close to defending this bigot who clearly has free reign to mock and ridicule people of religion. You are hypocritically selective.
I also find it amusing how quickly you forget just how condescending some of you people can be but then cry like big **sies when someone else lets you have it back.
Dont make me laugh.

On this particular thread, DB Roy has only posted links. There was no vitriol until you came along. It's embarrassing.ant wrote:It's morally disgusting you should even come close to defending this bigot who clearly has free reign to mock and ridicule people of religion. The only thing embarrassing is how conveniently short and selective your memory is.

This one takes the bible head on, grants the inerrantists every point, and the Good Book still comes up short.

Re: Useful scientific resources to silence fools
So here we have a slew of linked articles from D.B. purporting to provide "useful scientific resources to silence fools".DB Roy wrote:http://www.theskepticalreview.com/jftpr ... flood.html
This one takes the bible head on, grants the inerrantists every point, and the Good Book still comes up short.
We have the usual mishmash of claimed biblical contradictions and supposed scientific refutation of the biblical account in Genesis. The main target here is the Genesis flood.
The Genesis account provides a table of nations arising from the descendants of Noah and his three sons and their descendants.
When ancient histories, archaeology and philology are consulted we can find remarkable confirmations of the historicity of these founders of the post flood world.

D.B. of course thinks it's all myth including the gospel accounts of Christ. Archaeology though refutes him with evidence for Pilate,Caiaphas the high priest, and Jesus himself to name but a few.
As for the scientific refutation of the Genesis flood here are a couple of points worth remembering. Geology divided historically between Uniformitarianism and Catastrophism.
Uniformitarianism has been in the ascendancy for a long time now, however catastrophism is making a comeback among mainstream geologists.
This is the crucial difference. Were the sedimentary rock layers laid down very slowly or rapidly or perhaps a combination of both?
Unfortunately for the evolutionary dogmatists, the fossil record is far from supporting their hypothesis.
D.B. linked an articles by paleontologist Donald Prothero deriding the flood account.
Here's a review of Prothero's book on the fossils by a creationist.
Could the fossilization of a large dinosaur occur over millions of years? Obviously not. Incidentally those who may recall Prothero's debate with Richard Sternberg must know just how poorly he fared in that debate, which is on youtube.

And for the record it's a striking fact that Genesis describes the original earth as being a united continent with the oceans being one mass and that was way before plate tectonics were discovered.
So how did the author who would have known at the time of writing, that there were different continents and oceans get this right?
