So, my personal pick is Chris Wooding. He is one of the greatest sci-fi/fantasy writers I have ever had the pleasure of reading. I'm not familiar as much with his young adult novels but his dark fantasy series The Braided Path and The Tales of the Ketty Jay are incredible. He's made it onto the shelves so I assume he's doing pretty well, but I don't know anyone who's read his stuff and I recommend him all the time.
So do you know anyone you do not think get the recognition they deserve?
Perhaps I'll end up loving them too!

Re: Underrated Authors everyone should know about
Thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely have to check out the two series you mentioned! I'd never heard of Chris Wooding before.
I don't know if these authors are technically "underrated," but I have a hard time finding their books in person and I don't hear people talking about them often. My recommendations are Miranda July and Gabe Habash. Habash's Stephen Florida is one of my all-time favorites.

I'll definitely be putting Stephen Florida on my to-read list.
Thanks a lot for the recommendation. I only know of Miranda July as a Director, am I thinking of the correct person?

Yes, she's kind of a Jack-of-all-trades! Director, author, performance artist, et cetera.smeissnerbooks23 wrote:I'll definitely be putting Stephen Florida on my to-read list.

Read The Derelict. It's my favorite from him. A lot of people say that The House on the Borderland is a great book. I really liked it, but I like The Derelict more.smeissnerbooks23 wrote:Agreed. Although I've only read The Ghost Pirates so far.Murmur wrote:William Hope Hodgson.
