Timothy Other's birthplace has always been a mystery. 12 year-old Timothy lives at the Dreams and Hopes Orphanage where he was abandoned as an anonymous infant. Timothy’s world crumbles when the orphanage is repossessed by the bank and comes under the strict rule of the horrid Mr. Sterner and the scaly-skinned Ms. 'Fishy' Finn.

He escapes the Dreams and Hopes Orphanage and travels to the bizarre world of Marzipan Mountain, where he befriends some amazing creatures. Timothy seeks to discover his true origins and becomes embroiled in a matter of life and death, facing the evil forces that crave the secret of 'Golden Life'.

Review Anything can happen on Marzipan Mountain-and it does! The intriguingly named Timothy Other escapes from the Dreams and Hopes Orphanage and is plunged into a bizarre fantasy world. He meets a bed-sized caterpillar and a talking mouse, along with Borgerov, a yeti-like creature that protects a magical ancestral bush whose berries can unlock a remedy to save mankind. Timothy decides to return to the Orphanage to seek information about his past. Unbeknown to Timothy, his life is in grave danger. The cruel Ms Finn and her accomplice Mr Hargreaves are desperate to find ‘Golden Life’ and will resort to violence to attain it. Meanwhile, the likeable Mr T.W. Itling resolves to defend Timothy from the evil forces. This book is an entertaining read for young and old alike and I would recommend it to readers who enjoy fantasy adventure stories with a paranormal twist.
