Cool -- how often do you go? What did you get? (What's available in your neck of the woods already, produce-wise?) "All beings are the owners of their deeds, the heirs to their deeds." Loricat's Book NookCelebrating the Absurd

This was our first trip (I just moved to New York in Dec.) we got some apples this time but mostly we were just checking things out. We will be going back this Sunday and will probably buy all of our produce there for the coming week.Later

In Festival Mode

Unread post

Wow. I've been neglecting my reading, my social life, my everything as the days get closer to the Children's Festival that up neck-deep in. Today is our last day of "Oh no! I forgot to call...!" before set up tomorrow. We spin on Thursday morning, the day after.I'll be back after the weekend, and after I've had a chance to curl up in the corner and do nothing for at least a day! Full Career Change

Unread post

First I have to ask -- was Booktalk down for a couple of weeks? I came here once a day, from different computers, looking for it, but kept getting a blank page. Now, today, it's here, but there's lots of activity, lots of new posts -- what? The Booktalk tap was turned off to Canada for a couple of weeks? Weird.Anyway -- news. I'm definitely getting the government job that I may or may not have mentioned last year. I jumped through all the hoops, and in the end they have offered me a job here in my town! Brilliant. No moving. No major upheaval. Just a challenging new position, enabling me to potentially do some good in this town -- helping organizations get job creation grants. Gotta get some new clothes. One doesn't put on festivals and markets in office attire. "All beings are the owners of their deeds, the heirs to their deeds." Loricat's Book NookCelebrating the Absurd

Congrats on the government job! When do you start?BookTalk wasn't down at all. Oh, there are days when our server goes down for an hour or two, but those days are few and far between. I'm not aware of any real problems lately. Maybe the Internet pipe going into Canada froze up or something. What is the temperature up there these days? LOL

Okay, okay! I'm back!!

Unread post

Hi all.

Chris sent me an email that was a good prod...and life has calmed a little....so for good or for ill, I am back.

Since I was gone, I was incredibly busy wrapping up the Children's Festival, then learning my new job.

I love it!! :D What do I do? I negotiate and manage contribution agreements with employment service providers. Hmm. Sorry. That's gov speak for "I give organizations money to help the unemployed find employment."

I was too tired from learning all of that to do much else lately.

But I'm back.
