well i started listening to the audiobook

http://archive.org/details/man_thursday_zach_librivox

and was immediately hooked! great writer and very entertaining, wicked sense of humour. i can see why even people with opposing views had to love Chesterton, very endearing wit, very sharp and hilarious to boot.

so i ended up listening to the lot in two sessions.

THANKS STAHRWE!! it was a very enjoyable adventure.

will go back to chapter one now to join in the fun.

Chesterton's introduction to the piece is something worth perusing. A common apologetic tactic is to highlight the lack of meaning or value in life if there wasn't a supernatural hand involved in life. The writing points to a hollow, cold, and sterile environment devoid of life and well.....meaning.

Hmm, I don't have that in my version of the book.
